Day 22: The true meaning of Christmas

"The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love and of generosity and of goodness. It illuminates the picture window of the soul, and we look out upon the world’s busy life and become more interested in people than in things." - Thomas S. Monson

Day 22 is here!

Christmas is days away and it is easy to forget what it all means in the hustle and bustle of preparing for the big day, today is just a little reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. Many people associate Christmas with gift-giving, festive decorations, and delicious food. However, Christmas is much more than that.

For many the core of Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. For Christians, Christmas is a time to reflect on the love, grace, and mercy that God bestowed upon humanity by sending His son
to live among us. Jesus' life and teachings serve as an inspiration for many during the holiday season to practice kindness, generosity, and compassion towards others.

In addition to its religious significance, Christmas is also a time for family and community. Many people travel long distances to be with loved ones during this special time of the year. It is a time to reconnect with family, friends, and neighbours, to share stories and memories, and to create new ones.

Christmas, whether you see the Religious meaning or not, it all about the coming together of family and friends, putting differences aside for a time of togetherness.

The true meaning of Christmas is subjective to the individual but for some it is about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, and others it is about spreading love and kindness, and fostering a sense of community. This festive season, let us remember the true meaning of Christmas and carry it with us throughout the year to allow us to better ourselves and those around us.

So there you have it, day 22 is complete, as the end approaches I just want to wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Kisses
