Day 12: Christmas shopping essentials

"I once bought my kids a set of batteries for Christmas with a note on it saying, toys not included."- Bernard Manning

It’s that time of year again! As the festive season is here, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas shopping. Whether you’re looking for gifts for family, friends, or co-workers, there are a few essentials you’ll want to keep in mind to make your shopping experience as stress-free as possible.

First and foremost, make a list of everyone you need to buy gifts for. Make sure you check it twice ;) This will help you stay organised and ensure that you don’t forget anyone. Once you have your list, start brainstorming gift ideas for each person. Think about their interests, hobbies, and preferences to come up with thoughtful and personalised gifts, maybe look at their social media to see what they are into or
post about.

Another essential for Christmas shopping is budgeting. There has been a post on this before but mention it again shows you just how important it truly is. It’s easy to get carried away with the holiday spirit and overspend, so it’s important to set a budget for yourself and stick to it. Consider using cash or note down what you do spend on your card as this will help you to stay within your budget.

Don’t forget about the wrapping supplies! Stock up on wrapping paper, gift bags, ribbons, and bows so that you’re prepared to wrap all of your gifts. You might also want to consider buying some extra supplies in case you need to wrap any last-minute gifts. Do not forget the scello-tape either!

One quick thing to note for when you are actually Christmas shopping, go for a practical outfit rather than a cute one, but I mean you can always do both...I would go for trainers, leggings and cosy jumper and a coat, maybe even hat and gloves if it was extra cold. If you are in the car and inside a shopping centre you may not need to coat either, but make sure you will be warm enough and bring those reusable bags!

Overall, with a little planning and preparation, Christmas shopping can be a fun and enjoyable experience.

Merry Christmas
