"Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse." Clement Clarke Moore
Day 10 of our Blogmas and we're still going strong, here are my top 10 Christmas films that make me feel all festive and happy.
10...The Christmas Prince, now this is all three of the films. I love them and while they might not be to everyone's taste, they are definitely feel-good films.
9...Elf, now I love this film and watch it repeatedly during the festive season. It is great for all ages from 3 to 90. Whether you add syrup to your spaghetti or answer the phone asking the callers favourite colour it is a good giggle that ends in heartfelt Christmas spirit is really something we need after this year. But please do not try spaghetti and syrup.
8...A Christmas Carol, this Victorian novel film adaptation is the heart of our family Christmas. A classic to watch on a cold evening, the change of heart in a Mr Scrooge is surely a Christmas miracle.
7...Home Alone, who doesn't love this one? The mischievous Kevin defends his home the only way a little boy can and the comedy it presents brings pure Christmas joy. I literally laugh every time I watch this one.6...The Grinch, now this is the animated rendition that has recently come out. Now the story is different from the original but still brings the Christmas spirit in bundles. This one is definitely one of the most kid friendly films in this list and it has probably already been on 10 times by now.
5...Die Hard, now the debate is strong over if this is a Christmas film or not but seeing Alan Rickman around Christmas is definitely a bonus and it is set at a Christmas party so.... This Action film definitely isn't your typical Christmas film but it is definitely a great Christmas film. Okay so I decided it is a Christmas film.
4...The Christmas Chronicles 2, here is the second one of the two. This one is a classic saving Christmas film that is new for 2020 and just what we need this Christmas. I think this will be one to watch again and again.
3...Home Alone 2, this one makes me laugh like no other. Any kid lost in New York would certainly take inspiration from this film. It has definitely stood the test of time. I need to visit all of the places in this film...bucket list must!
2...The Christmas Chronicles, now this is just the 1st film. Helping Santa deliver presents after fixingthe sleigh. It’s just magical, I love it and always brings a smile to my face. It has vastly become an annual tradition to watch this film with a giant tub of sweets.
1...The Grinch, this is the Jim Carrey spectacular that is probably the best Christmas film ever made. It goes on every Christmas eve and helps bring in Christmas day.
So there you have it Christmas films at their finest. What are your favourite Christmas films?
There you have it, day 10 post complete! I hope you have enjoyed this top 10 and with Christmas Day not too far I hope you're all ready and prepared.
Enjoy the rest of the festive season and stay safe this Christmas
