We've said before that implementing self-care into our daily lives can be difficult. We have busy lives and often neglect ourselves until we feel completely dejected and a deep self-care session is needed. But taking small elements of the day and making them into self-care moments may just be the thing you're missing.
A few ways to create small moments of self-care consist of:
That morning cup of Tea or Coffee
Often we drink this while doing other things and don't really take too much notice of it but if we take the time to sit and appreciate the moment and slow down even for just a couple of moments this can re-centre our minds and help us feel at ease and calmer for the day ahead.
Makeup
Doing my makeup every morning can often be a quick 'slap it on a go' but again taking care and slowing down while putting on your face can be one of those moments that can set you up for the day. Alternatively taking your makeup off at the end of the day can be a moment of quiet with yourself to reflect on the day and wind down for the evening. Washing off the day can really impact our wellness, feeling relaxed and calm will then go on to help you sleep.
15 minute speed clean
I know I'm not the only one who see's cleaning as a laborious chore but lets change that, curate yourself a 'spring cleaning' playlist or 'speed cleaning' playlist and make it a moment, bite the bullet and get too it. Maybe make yourself a list that you have to complete before the playlist finishes. Find a way to either make it fun or make it therapeutic
Creating small moments of self-care can really impact the mindset of the day, it can set you up or the day or help you wind down ready for bed. Things you do in the day that you rush can always be slowed down and made into a moment of self-care.
