My favourite things about Spring!

Spring to me is a representation of new beginnings. Coming out of Winter, it’s beautiful to feel the air getting warmer. I also feel different when Spring begins, it makes me feel light, burdenless and motivated to work harder. I’ve noticed I am more excited.

 • Daylight savings: Clocks going forward and losing an hour is only hard on the first day, after that there are great things that are noticeable. For example, the sun goes down later which means we have sunlight for longer. I personally love this because I feel more productive and energetic throughout the day, sunlight gives me joy! (The next point will explain more.)

 • My seasonal depression goes back into hiding:
Seasonal depression mostly occurs in winter, that is true for me too. Winter is a time where although I’m excited about Christmas, the cooler atmosphere takes a lot of energy from me. The cold makes me want to stay cosy in bed, outside looks gloomy most of the time (in UK) which does not motivate me even a little bit. So, when Spring begins I immediately feel better. More sunshine, warmer weather, longer days all adds to my being happy.

 • Flowers:
Not only do we get more sunshine but flowers begin to grow and bloom. I’m so grateful that we also get cherry blossoms here and there. Cherry blossom trees are my most favourite; just a glance gets me smiling. Nothing says spring better than colourful places.

 • Spring colours:
Easter/Spring is a time associated with pastel colours coming out. Pastel purple, pink, yellow, green, they’re all simply beautiful. Pastels bring out a softness and daintiness which allows spring time to feel light and positive. I will never not wear pastels during spring time!

 • Time for dresses to come out:
Like I mentioned before about Easter and Spring being associated with pastel colours, these colours can be seen in dresses. I’m not saying you can’t wear dresses all year round, but it’s more meaningful to save dresses for certain seasons like spring and summer. If you can’t save them then it might be worth organising dresses according to colour and material for each season. The idea of dresses coming out in spring is the idea of newness.

 • Iced coffees are finally appropriate:
I am a lover of iced coffee so it’s safe to say that I drink iced coffee all year, even in winter. However, it’s not exactly appropriate to drink during winter considering how fast I catch colds. So when spring begins I know that I can drink all the iced coffees I want without catching a cold easily.

Love,

Imaan xx
