My own self-care and wellness practices

Every one of us needs to show how much we care for each other and, in the process, care for ourselves.” — Princess Diana

Top tips and how to guides are all good and well but we often need a personal perspective to see what actually works and what doesn't. Setting time aside to practice self-care and wellness is easier said/typed than done and I know that from personal experience.

Seeing titles like 'simple self-care' or 'quick and easy' often give us a false sense of security or we scoff at it knowing how busy our own lives can be so here are some practical ways that I add self-care and wellness into my weekly routine.

My selfcare often begins on a Friday...

Part One: I head to my nans and spend time with her. After loosing my grandad in 2021 I have found spending more time with her helps me feel closer to him but also means she isn't on her own. We all have a takeaway and chill after a long week, ready for the weekend!

Part Two: Now this is a Saturday. I call this anything can happen Saturday. It is a day where I can make plans to do as I wish, see friends, head shopping, play on the Xbox. Anything I wish. This helps give me a sense of control, there are no school runs to abide by and no pick up times either. It is also where I take my time getting ready for the day.

Let's end with a Sunday shall we, Part three: Every Sunday I wake up, make myself come breakfast and watch four in a bed! What can I say, I bloody love that programme but you cannot watch it without some form of cooked breakfast. It is sort of like my 'prep for the week day' I have a full on shower, create any reels for the next week and think about my upcoming blog posts.

Then it is back to Monday and the craziness of the week begins again...

I hope that this realistic look into my self-care gives you some inspiration for your own.
