Being your true self and why it's important

"Be Bold, Be Brave enough to be your true self" - Queen Latifah Over this last month we have talked about self-empowerment and building yourself up, we have talked about body positivity and not giving a shit. But ultimately the biggest element of self-empowerment is all about being who you truly are. Being your true self is essential for living a fulfilling life. It means accepting and embracing who you are, including your strengths and weaknesses. When you are true to yourself, you are not trying to be someone else or living up to someone else's expectations. Instead, you are living authentically and following your own path and building your own self-empowerment.  Many people struggle with being their true selves because they fear rejection or judgment from others. However, it is important to remember that you are unique and that is something to be celebrated. Embrace your individuality and do not be afraid to express yourself. Whether it is through your passions, your

Empower yourself today and deal with your self-doubts

“A champion is defined not by their wins but by how they can recover when they fall.” — Serena Williams Self-empowerment July is coming to an end and we feel this month has been super successful, today is the last Tuesday of self-empowerment month so I'm giving you a small two-in-one post today so enjoy... It can be difficult to find the motivation to take the first step, but once you do, the benefits are immense. Here are five ways to empower yourself today: Take responsibility for your life. Stop blaming others for your problems and take ownership of your actions. This will give you the power to change your situation and create a better future for yourself. Set achievable goals. Break down your big dreams into smaller, more manageable goals. This will make it easier to stay motivated and track your progress. Practice self-care. Take care of your physical, emotional, and mental health. Eat well, exercise regularly, and take time to relax and recharge. Surround yourself with posit

Insecurities: We all have them

"I have my moments of insecurity and figuring out what's going on and what I'm supposed to do, but if you don't push yourself, you're not growing, so where do you go?" -Selena Gomez Being insecure is not as bad as it seems. Often we feel insecure when we push boundaries and move beyond our comfort zones. It's completely normal to have insecurities. Everyone has something they feel unsure about or wish they could change and even when trying something new. It's important to remember that nobody is perfect and it's okay to have flaws, we all have them.  Acknowledging our insecurities can actually be a positive thing, as it allows us to work on improving ourselves and our self-esteem. It's important to be kind to ourselves and remember that we are all unique and have our own strengths and weaknesses. Embracing and overcoming our imperfections can lead to greater self-acceptance and happiness. Overcoming insecurities can be a challenging journey, b

How To Not Give A Shit

"Don't let nobody tell you your life is over, Be every colour that you are." - Aly & AJ In order to reach your peak level of confidence and feel like the most hot, baddest version of yourself, it is important to not give a single f**k about people's opinions. One of my anthems has been Rush by Aly & AJ since I was 10 years old. It basically says that you shouldn't let anyone control the way you live your life. It's a brilliant message for a 10 year old, to this day I feel empowered listening to it. I know I won't let anyone tell me my life is over! Buuut...It can be very difficult ignoring what everyone else has to say. Things like social media make it  competitive to live, like, are you even living if you're not posting your vacations?! It's such a crazy world. To avoid digging a hole for myself, this is what I do to know I am Confident, Beautiful and Strong. 1. Stop Comparison: So much of my life has been spent comparing. I see someone

Pep Talk 101: A Travellers Guide!

"It is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change."- HM Queen Elizabeth II I bet some of your a wondering Pep Talk? Isn't that just a motivational speech, when honestly yes they are the same thing but a pep talk sounds more informal and easier to complete.  Things are definitely going to get harder with the cost of living crisis and we are all feeling it.  Sometimes we need to give ourselves a little 'go get them' speech but saying a quiet "you can do this" isn't always good enough.  You might look at yourself in the mirror and no believe a word that comes out of your mouth.  It happens to me quiet a lot. The main issue I have with this it that my self doubt creeps in. It pokes it head from around a small corner in my brain whistling 'no you're not' and then his friend Anxiety joins the self doubt crew.  This is the point I get stern with myself. (And I know this sounds super silly but trust me)

Fall In Love With Yourself

"To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness" - Robert Morley I would say my relationship with myself is 60:40. I love spending time alone and doing the things that I love but I also have days where I hate my body, or don’t like the way my skin looks under makeup. I’ve learned that it is better for my mental health if I focus on the things I love about myself and on growth rather than on the things I dislike. I believe that there is never a day where you can’t grow, growth can happen every single day, there’s so much in this world that can teach you about you. We often wait for the things we want to do. For example; when I want to go shopping, I usually wait until my friends are free to go shopping as well and when they're not available, I end up online shopping.  In reality, I have the option to take myself shopping and treat myself. In recent years, I have gained enough courage and am  becoming more independent and taking myself on trips when others

Self Empowerment: What actually is it?

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” — Eleanor Roosevelt Self-empowerment is the process of taking control of your life and making decisions that positively impact your well-being. It involves building self-confidence, setting goals, and taking action to achieve them. One way to start on the path of self-empowerment is to identify your strengths and weaknesses.  It's also important to surround yourself with positive influences and let go of negative ones. By taking ownership of your life, you can create a better future for yourself and those around you.  Remember, self-empowerment is a journey, not a destination, and it requires ongoing effort and commitment. So here are six tips to set you on your way: Set goals: Identify what you want to achieve and create a plan of action to reach those goals. (This will give you direction and purpose) Build confidence: Believe in yourself and your abilities. Practice self-affirmations and positive self-talk to boost your co

Tapping Into The Most Confident Version Of Yourself

“We should just pick the hottest, most confident, bad bitch version of ourselves and be that for the rest of the school year.” - Cassie Howard, Euphoria  Almost all of my life I have had trouble with embracing myself, and being confident in who I am. I still remember the first time I watched Euphoria season 1, seeing Kat reinvent herself and become a badass was eye opening. I now felt the need to embrace myself and strut like I’m on a catwalk everyday.  When you’re insecure in yourself, it is evident to everyone most of the time. You’d be surprised how much better life will treat you once you start to love yourself and embrace your bad bitch energy. Here are some things that help me feel like the hottest, confident, most bad bitch version of myself:  Self-care is key : whether that be keeping up with hair appointments, taking care of your body, or even doing skincare. It is so important to take care of yourself in order to tap into the most confident version of yourself. When you feel

Body Positivity (Katie's Story)

"Any body type is beautiful. It's all about loving what you got and rocking it." - Meghan Trainor.  Body positivity is not something that comes easily to many, myself included. Sometimes I hate the way I look and sometimes I love it beyond anything else. A lot of this is dependant on a range of factors.  Hormones: This impacts my mood on different days both in a positive and negative.  Food: If I have eaten lots of rubbish food I often feel that very same way, rubbish. Mixing what I eat and adding healthy options always makes me feel better in myself and therefore in my body. But I also do not restrict myself, I will not tell myself that I cannot have something because quiet honestly it will make me want it more! I have recently started writing my food down and seeing what I eat. This has helped me to eat a little healthier but it isn't for everyone.  Clothes: Over the last 5 years I have refined my style and really looked at what clothes suit me and fit me. I really
